Club Awards
Howrah Junior Soccer Club presents the following player awards at the End of Season Celebration.
Sportsmanship Award
Eligibility: Each Under 5 to Under 7 team
This award is based on an assessment made by the coach.
Coaches should consider the following criteria:
Exceptional Sportsmanship
Plays fairly, honestly and respects the spirit of the game.
Respect for others
Shows respect for team members, coaches, game leaders and the opposition.
Positive Attitude
Has a positive attitude and shows enthusiasm, even when the team is struggling.
One player from each team will be presented with this award.
Nominations should include how these qualities have been demonstrated throughout the season (50 words or less).
To build excitement for the award, coaches should avoid sharing their decision with others.
Award winners will be announced at the end of season celebration event.

Players’ Player Award
Eligibility: Each Under 8 to Under 12 team
This award is based on a 3, 2, 1 vote from each player in the team.
Players should consider the following criteria:
Team Player
Puts the team first.
Inspiration
Inspires the team, raises morale and brings energy.
Positive Attitude
Encourages others, accepts feedback and has a positive approach.
Character
Good role model and shows respect to team members, coaches, game leaders and the opposition.
Performance
Contributes consistently to the team’s success.
The player from each team with the highest number of votes will be presented with this award.
Voting will take place at training sessions.
Coaches will not vote, and players cannot vote for themselves.
To build excitement for the award, players should avoid sharing their decision with others.
Award winners will be announced at the end of season celebration event.

George McNees Award
Eligibility: Whole of club
This award is based on nominations made by each coach.
Coaches should consider the following criteria:
Bravery
Is resilient and courageous.
Inclusion
Shows kindness, friendship, loyalty and respect.
Sportsmanship
Plays fairly, honestly and respects the spirit of the game.
Each coach can nominate one player from their team for the George McNees Award.
Nominations should include how these qualities have been demonstrated over the entire season, throughout a game or during a moment within a game (200 words or less).
A panel, consisting of members of George’s family and the HJSC committee will assess the nominations and select a winner.
To build excitement for the award, coaches and panel members should avoid sharing their decision with others.
The award winner will be announced at the end of season celebration event.
